St. Paddy's Day Attire

Our St. Paddy's day was very mellow. We worked and hung out at home most of the day, then went out for dinner with friends at Sauce followed by another drink or two at Dobbs Ferry! I traded the denim for tailored shorts and the sneakers for polished black wedges to take the outfit from daytime to nighttime. But this look would have been fun, had we partaken in a little green beer guzzlin' during the day!

Pretend Business Casual

I've only worked in one formal office setting, and you certainly couldn't have worn breezy black separates, chunky 6-inch heels, and bright red lipstick to the Florida Department of Education. But isn't it fun to wear something a fashion magazine would deem "office chic"? ;)

Transitioning

Not only have I been transitioning from Tallahassee to San Francisco, I've also been transitioning from my winter to spring wardrobe--especially now that we've finally gotten some stuff unpacked! Although this bright pink maxi is a great staple for the summer months, I thought a light sweater and my new black coat (snagged the last medium on major sale at Zara!) made it appropriate for a little excursion in early March. This past weekend, Stephen and I walked down to Golden Gate Park and stopped at Pacific Catch for some sweet potato fries and white wine. So delicious!

Not sure why I can't find the Celine knockoff on the Aldo site; it's brand-new! I got it at the downtown SF Aldo two weeks ago.

Online Cravings

I swear, the online shopping itch always strikes at the worst times. Yesterday, my fiancé and I put down a month's rent and the security deposit on our new apartment (WOOHOOO!) and I'm about to be reunited with all of my clothes. I've been living out of a suitcase in our temporary place this past month, and have been on a "reduced wardrobe" since early December, when my Dad kindly drove half of Stephen's and my stuff to California and stored it until we arrived. Basically, I'm about to get all of my things back, many of which will probably feel new after all this time! So why did I pick today to decide I need more things?

Not to mention that, in order to unpack the stuff, we need to buy furniture-- a cost that's going to be even larger than our rent and deposit. My point isn't to bore you with my financial life. (Some would even argue that talking money is tacky! But I feel like a lot of bloggers do it since budget is a big part of anyone's fashion and beauty decisions.) Etiquette debate aside, what I'm saying is simply that this is pretty much the worst time for me to be craving new stuff.

Some of these items are things I might get (I could definitely justify the affordable and classic F21 trench) and some will probably stay on the wish-list for awhile, but I'd sure love if they were currently in the closet of my brand-new apartment. So without further ado, here are a couple of super-cute numbers that I would buy right this minute if I hadn't just moved to the priciest place to live (or rent, at least) in the United States...

 // Brahmin tote //

Just because I can't seem to stop rambling on: let's dissect the motive behind this fantastic Brandy Melville beanie real quick. Is it because the nineties are in style? Or is it because they're reasoning that everyone who's the right age to wear one of Brandy Melville's trendy styles was inevitably conceived in the '90s? Because option #2 would make me feel old! I mean, I was "made in the '90s" but I only missed the cut-off for "made in the '80s" by about 4 months...

Oh and because I'm a brat, I wanted to clarify that my apostrophe usage--not the beanie's--is correct. Although I totally just corrected a typo in a previous post so I shouldn't be so high and mighty right now. **grimace emoji**

Faux Fur and Black

Greetings from our new home, San Francisco!!! Stephen and I went to a coffee shop in The Mission the other day, and this is what I wore. I thought a chic black ensemble with faux fur and a red lip would be good for my newfound role as a city girl. What do you guys think-- do I look like Blair Eadie yet?? ;)

Top, Brandy Melville; shorts, Ross; tights CVS; vest, Narcissus (not online, but this fur vest is on my wishlist); shoes, Steve Madden; sunglasses, Avant Garb Vintage (similar); watch, Citizen, earrings, Stein Mart.

Black, White, and Gold

Long time no see!  This was the longest I've gone without posting since I started this blog, and I am very glad to be back.  I was so excited when I found this blouse on a recent day trip to Thomasville, Georgia.  I've worn it everywhere from dinner with girlfriends (the night these were taken), to the office, to even a recent promo modeling audition--and got the job!  I love how the studs give it that little something extra without limiting the inherent versatility of a silky white blouse.

Top, Brooke & Nicole (boutique); shorts, Ross; shoes, ASOS (sold out but similar here and here); purse, Michael Kors; nails, Cotton Buds by Butter London; rings, ebay; Cameo, gift from Stephen, watch, Betsey Johnson (very similar here).

Unstructured Peplum

I haven't over-indulged in the peplum trend, but I liked that this top incorporated peplum into a more subtle, flowing look.  I also pulled out my gold gameday headband (go Noles!) and sorority rush jeans for a little college nostalgia.  It's hard to believe it's already been eight months since I graduated...
Top, Ross; Jeans, Rock & Republic; shoes, gojane.com; clutch, hand-me-down from my sister (originally from Nordstrom, I think); watch, Betsey Johnson; bracelets, Forever 21, The Other Side Vintage, and Narcissus boutique; headband, CVS; earrings, Target; rings, ebay; nails, Hazard by Sinful Colors.

Le Fric C'est Chic

This is probably my favorite outfit this month!  I was thrilled to score this shirt on major sale, and it was just begging to be paired with these vintage leather shorts.  Everything just seemed to come together, from the chain link on the collar matching my purse's strap, to having a lipstick that was the same color as my shoes.  Don't you just love when that happens?  Though I have been a little shy about this blogging endeavor, I did post a picture of this outfit to Instagram (follow me if you're interested @mayaschuller) which ended up being very well-received.  Sometimes a little courage goes a long way--in fashion and in life!

Shirt, Zara; shorts, Dechoes Vintage; shoes, Vince Camuto; purse, Michael Kors; bracelets, The Other Side Vintage and Old Navy; nails, Hazard by Sinful Colors.
